LOS ANGELES — Allison Holdorff Polhill, candidate for LA City Council District 11, released the following statement today after the LA City Clerk announced the effort to recall Councilmember Mike Bonin submitted an insufficient number of signatures to qualify:
“I entered the race for City Council to address the unhoused and safety crisis in our City in an urgent and meaningful way. Mike Bonin has had nine years to address these issues and has turned a blind eye to encampments near schools and parks that endanger our children and families. Each day he remains our councilmember is a danger to our children and our families.
“All of our focus now turns to the June primary election. It’s time to replace Bonin with a leader who has a vision and proven track record of working with all of our Westside communities to solve our biggest challenges — from homelessness and crime to environmental protection to traffic gridlock. I am ready to be that leader for District 11.”
